About Me

Art Therapy With Charlotte offers a gentle space to explore and express your inner self through the arts. I am a certified Art Therapist, professionally registered with ANZACATA, and I am dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for individuals to tap into their creativity and engage in the therapeutic process. Whether you're looking to address emotional challenges or simply seeking personal growth, my art therapy sessions are tailored to meet your unique needs.

I have always appreciated the arts as a way to express myself, using drawing and painting to explore my experiences and my emotions. I have also always considered art to be a therapeutic tool for the soul, providing me comfort and serenity. These passions guided me into a Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT University, and soon I discovered the world of Art Therapy, studying a Diploma of Art Therapy at Health and Harmony Colleges. Following these, I completed a Masters in Therapeutic Arts at The MIECAT Institute, opening me to a world of deeper exploration, expression and understanding of creative ways to share one's inner experiences, and the way we can be with and alongside others in that process.
I completed my Masters placement at a Palliative Care service in Melbourne's south east, working with many palliative clients across all ages as well as carers of clients through an Allied Health team. In this year-long placement, I supported clients in exploring health and illness-related concerns, as well as using Art Therapy for relaxation, distraction and sharing their life stories. The experience I gained in this heavy space of Palliative Care taught me many skills about connection and care for vulnerable individuals.
I have worked as a support worker under the NDIS for six years, and have engaged with a range of clients with ASD1, anxiety, other mental health concerns, and physical disabilities. With many of my clients, art has been an interest for them and I have been able to support them with creative endeavours as well.
Now that I am working as an Art Therapist, my skills and learnings over the years have taught me many wonderful things about how to support individuals with their creative expression and art journeys. I am proud to bring together my passion for supporting people and for the arts, and I am excited to share this space and explore creative expression with you.
My Approach
I bring a gentle presence to the Art Therapy space, remaining open and curious to your own curiosities and needs. My focus is to be with and alongside you in your Art Therapy journey, providing guidance and support in your creative explorations and offering you a supportive space for your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. I will always be guided by you and your needs.
